In 2012, the Russian ALROSA Diamond Company will increase supplies to Armenian enterprises by 25-30 percent, Gagik Abrahamyan, Honorary President of the International Armenian Jewelers’ Association, told Armenian News-NEWS.am after his meeting with ALROSA President Fyodor Andreev.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to increase the volume of partnership. “It was also noted that Armenia’s enterprises considerably reduced the volume of import in the fourth quarter of 2011, even though they could have maintained the previous level,” ALROSA Press Service told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

And Gagik Abrahamyan noted: “The import volume did drop considerably because of the sharp reduction in the international market’s raw material demand. But Fyodor Andreev knows the capabilities of the Armenian enterprises very well. That is why ALROSA President assessed the situation as a partner, owing to which, an agreement was reached whereby ALROSA will increase the volume of raw material by 25-30 percent in 2012.”
