YEREVAN. – Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan and Ilkka Laitinen, Executive Director of Frontex (European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union), on Wednesday signed the working agreement which outlines the agenda for future cooperation between Armenia and Frontex.     

In Baghdasaryan’s words, this cooperation means the best international border management knowhow’s introduction in Armenia, joint analyses, and exchange of experience.

In his turn, Ilkka Laitinen specified the three factors which will become a basis for signing the cooperation agreement: the Armenian leadership’s great political willingness, the successful strategy for the integrated management of borders in Armenia, and support of international organizations. Frontex Executive Director added that the agreement’s signing will be followed by the designing of its action plan, NSC Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

Arthur Baghdasaryan informed that they also discussed the creation of a regional infrastructure in Armenia for personnel training.
