YEREVAN. – The Armenian dram (AMD) continues to devalue against other currencies at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange.
And the US dollar’s average exchange rate was AMD 389.89/$1 on Wednesday, which is a 0.1-percent, or 0.39-point, increase as compared with Tuesday.
The trading session started at AMD 390/$1 but closed with AMD 389.50/$1, which means the dollar could continue to weaken on Thursday, too.
The total sales were $3.5 million.
But the dollar’s gaining value at Armenia’s stock exchange did not cause any significant change in the cash foreign currency market. Very small number of exchange offices is purchasing the US dollar at a maximum of AMD 389/$1, whereas it is sold at AMD 390/$1 without restraint.
