YEREVAN. – During its session on Thursday, Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) paid tribute to the ten victims of the tragedy that occurred in the capital Yerevan on March 1, 2008.    

NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan noted that today marks the fourth anniversary of those tragic events and called to pay respects to the victims with a minute of silence. 

Ten people, including two military servicemen, had lost their lives as a result of this tragedy that took place in Yerevan on March 1, 2008. Following this calamity, a state of emergency was declared in the capital, and hundreds of opposition members were arrested.
