YEREVAN. – In the case when the newly-installed speed detectors were recording 300-600 daily speeding cases in Armenia’s capital Yerevan, this number sharply reduced recently and reached a mere eleven on the day of the heavy snowfall in the city, Eduard Hovhannisyan, “Achilles” Center for the Defense of Drivers’ Rights NGO Chairman, stated during a pres conference on Saturday.

He noted that the reduction in these numbers is due to the fact that the drivers now know where the speed detectors are installed.

Eduard Hovhannisyan also noted that sometimes the police are recording unfounded traffic violations, and that they had three such court cases and all of them closed in the Center’s favor.
