An Armenian man was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment and repayment of $1.8 million to the federal government for his role in a Medicare fraud scheme, Florida Times-Union reports.
Artur Manasaryan was using his Brunswick medical supply company as front in Medicare fraud scheme. He submitted $7.4 million in phony claims to Medicare through Brunswick Medical and his eight other businesses.
Last August he pleaded guilty to single counts of conspiracy to commit health-care fraud and aggravated identity theft. In exchange for that plea, the government dismissed eight other charges, the newspaper writes.
