YEREVAN. – The court hearing of former Chief of the Police Force Criminal Investigation Department, Police Major General Hovhannes Tamamyan, resumed Wednesday at capital Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork Marash General Jurisdiction Court, but it was adjourned on the same day.

At the beginning of the trial, one of the other defendants, Armen Poghosyan, motioned that he again wished to change his attorney and asked that legal representative Arayik Alvandyan be reassigned to him.

Alvandyan, who was present in the courtroom, asked for a mere one day to somewhat prepare for the case, since he is already well-informed of this lawsuit.

The prosecutor and the other defendants had no objections, and therefore the presiding judge adjourned the Court until Thursday.

Hovhannes Tamamyan is under custody since March 24, 2011, and he is charged with abuse of power, which has caused serious consequences, and he pleads not guilty.
