YEREVAN.- Armenia just as other world states is marking the International Day of Francophonie on March 20.

A month, or in fact a period from March to May, started last Friday with Carmen opera by the French composer Georges Bizet.

The series of events throughout Armenia will be held within the frameworks of “Francophonie season”. Besides, the presentation of the French-language page of National Assembly’s website was held on Tuesday.

French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud stated the season opening was perfect.

The International Organization of La Francophonie brings together 75 states, 56 out of them are members of the organization and 19 have an observer status.

Armenia will receive a full membership status to the International Organization of La Francophonie during the Organization’s summit in Kinshasa this year.
