Turkey’s Court of Cassation left unchanged the sentence of Ogun Samast, the murderer of Hrant Dink, the chief editor of the Istanbul-based Armenian paper Agos.

He is sentenced to 22 years and 10 months in jail. Besides, the court cut the penalty sum from 600 to 300 liras.

Samast’s case was sent to the Minor’s court as according to his lawyer he was underage while committing the murder.

The Minor’s Court sentenced Samast to 21 years and 6 months imprisonment for murder and 1 year and 4 months for illegal possession of weapon. Thus, the murderer was sentenced to 22 years and 10 months.
