YEREVAN. – Working at local government agencies is something close to the heart of Taron Margaryan, Mayor of Armenia’s capital Yerevan. Margaryan himself stated this, during a press conference on Saturday, in response to the question as to whether he imagines himself in the next parliament.

“Since I am a [political] party member, the party will decide where I will be after the [National Assembly] elections. But I have said on numerous occasions that I have an experience in working in local government agencies; that work is dear to me, [but] this is my personal opinion. And with respect to after the forthcoming elections, the [ruling coalition’s] Republican Party [of Armenia (RPA)] will decide that,” Margaryan said.

Taron Margaryan is fourth in RPA’s proportional election list.
