YEREVAN. – The key issue for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is to secure free and transparent parliamentary elections, RPA MP Vardan Ayvazyan told the journalists on Tuesday.

According to Ayvazyan, RPA will try to preserve the seats it has in the current parliament and to increase them if possible.

 The other participant of the conference, deputy head of the Free Democrats [the party runs for the parliament with joint proportional list with the parliamentary opposition Heritage party] Anush Sedrakyan pointed out the social-economic situation and negative sides of the policy run in the state.

She claimed Armenians are likely to face repetition of the situation. As for the RPA motto “Let us believe to change!” RPA should change for the Free Democrats to believe in them.

Sedrakyan also added that they expect 20% of votes in the upcoming elections.

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is a ruling conservative party in Armenia.The Republican Party of Armenia will run in the parliamentary elections under its new slogan: “Let us believe to change!” The Party’s proportional list includes 253 names.

Heritage and Free Democrats Party are running for the parliament with joint proportional list.
