BBC has published a series of photos of the Armenian community of India’s Calcutta.

“Decades ago they were a wealthy and influential group but now their numbers have diminished,” reads the text.

There are 200 Armenians residing in the city, BBC says.

Armenians of Calcutta have 300-year old history. There are three Armenian churches and five cemeteries as well as Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy.
