Azerbaijan has not learned to respect the fundamental rights of Nagorno-Karabakh’s people, Chairman Masis Mayilyan of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Security and Foreign Policy Public Council told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on Azerbaijani MFA statement on NKR presidential elections.  

“That is an absurd statement. But it confirms yet again that Azerbaijan is not ready to accept NKR people’s fundamental rights,” Mayilyan stressed, and added that official Baku always manifests such approach.  

In response to the announcement on NKR’s upcoming presidential elections, Azerbaijani MFA Spokesperson Elman Abdullayev had accused official Yerevan of a “disrespectful attitude toward international law.”
