YEREVAN. – 39 out of 41 district electoral commissions ended registration of the MP candidates in Armenia. Two candidates declared rejection, while the commission rejected the third one on Friday.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) candidate Sargis Hakobyan rejected himself in No. 13 district, leaving behind two candidates from the RPA and off-parliament opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
Gevorg Asatryan rejected himself in No. 21 district and the committee rejected Ashot Janjapanyan’s application in No. 15 district.
Registration expires on Apr. 1, at the same time the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) and district electoral commissions should have ended registration of the candidates on plurality and proportional systems.
