YEREVAN. – The Central Electoral Commission registered 155 candidates for the May 6 parliamentary elections on plurality system.
The registration date expired on Apr. 1., forty-one election districts registered 155 candidates out of 181 applications. The rest of the candidates either announced rejection or were rejected to struggle further.
Central Electoral Commission (CEC) also rejected to register three candidates, including businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan (off parliament opposition Armenian National Congress), Aram Harutunyan and Gevorg Tosunyan (ruling coalition member Orinats Yerkir party).
Another eight candidates announced rejection. CEC registered the proportional lists of the parties and one bloc.
