YEREVAN. – A criminal case is opened on March 31 in connection with the hooliganism that occurred at the sports school of Armenia’s Gyumri city on March 30, Police News Service representative Armen Malkhasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am

In his words, after examining the scene of the incident, the traces of a blood-like fluid and the damaged furniture were seized. The school’s female employee, the eyewitnesses, and the nearby residents were questioned.      

Also, measures are taken to determine the identity of the hooligans.

An investigation is underway.

To note, a fight broke out between two groups of youth in Gyumri on March 30. The clash was between the young men who were registering separate voting pledges in favor of the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia Party, for the forthcoming National Assembly elections. According to preliminary data, shots were fired, too.
