Famous rock singer, frontman of System of a Down Serj Tankian finishes recording his third solo album. His new Harakiri album has been recorded in Serjical Strike/Reprise Records and is to be released this summer, KNAC radio station informs.

“This album differs from the other albums which I have recorded as a solo artist so far. There is more driving and punk and also gothic influence and electronic elements from the 80’s,” Tankian mentioned.

The lyrics include personal experiences, as well as politics, philosophy, love and humor.

Serj Tankian also informed that he used an iPad for sketching out three of his new songs.

“We must try different ways for creating music in order to get unexpected results,” Tankian added.

To note, Tankian’s first solo album ‘Elect the Dead’ was released in 2007 followed by ‘Imperfect Harmonies’ in 2010.
