YEREVAN.- The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be settled through peace talks, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during his meeting with university professors in Yerevan.

He recalled the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group adding that about ten meetings were held at the initiative of Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev.

The meetings were aimed at reaching agreement on the basic principles which will be the basis for peace agreement.

The Minister stressed that Russia is ready to continue the work. Lavrov said that the agreement on the negotiating table supposes that the Karabakh people should decide their destiny in the final stage after the surrounding territories are returned and corridor is provided.
