YEREVAN. – For already several weeks citizens are not able to receive their passports from the visa and passports department of the police. This has caused discontent.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has also received many complaints from citizens who were not able to get their passports. We tried to find out more about this from the Head of the Police’s Visa and Passport Department Hovhannes Kocharyan. He informed that the passports are not being issued because of technical problems. Passports are being issued to the new generation a new data base is being created and so some technical mistakes occur. Kocharyan informed that they are trying to settle the issue before the parliament elections scheduled on May 6.
