YEREVAN. - Positive movement has been registered in Armenia’s instrument engineering since the beginning of 2012, National Statistical Service of Armenia informes.

In Jan.-Feb. 2012, 280 computers were produced as compared to 212 in the mentioned period last year.

Armenia produces 1,800 computers a year that meets 5% of domestic demand.

As regards production of car batteries, progress is more considerable. Despite the fact that in 2011 the production of car batteries had already increased sharply, by 4.5 times, the growth continued in Jan.-Feb of 2012. A total of 4,700 batteries were produced, which is double increase as compared with the previous year.

In 2012, an increase in the production of motors, metal cutters, welding tools was registered as well. In addition, production of calculators has been resumed.
