YEREVAN. – Armenia and Cyprus signed a cooperation memorandum on the EU issues by the Armenian and Cyprus FMs Edward Nalbandian and Erato Kozaku-Markulis respectively in Yerevan.

Nalbandian reminded that Cyprus took the chairmanship of the EU from July 1st and the parties will cooperate on programs realized within this format.

“Cyprus was one of the first states within the EU to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide back in 1982. The cooperation has been increased in the recent years, which was significant by the official mutual visits of the heads of the both states,” Nalbandian said.

The parties discussed ways of enlarging bilateral relations, as well agenda of international relations. Significant contribution by the Cypriot-Armenian community was stressed within the cooperation.
