YEREVAN. – The number of clients in Armenia’s banking system has reached 1.36 million, as of February 1, 2012, and these customers have a total of 2.2 million bank accounts in the country.  

In 2011, however, there were 1.12 million bank clients, and they had a total of 1.8 million bank accounts.     

So, in actual fact, the number of bank customers in Armenia increased by 240 thousand, and that of bank accounts, by 400 thousand in one year.  

And close to 95 percent of the clients are individuals who primarily make up for the number of bank customers in the country.
