On Saturday, the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) was at the Tavush and Gegharkunik regions, along the lines of campaigning for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The ANC members, led by the Congress’ leader and Armenia’s First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, already visited Berd and Ijevan cities.

During the public meeting at Ijevan, Ter-Petrosyan noted: “Vote by listening to your conscience, [and] nothing more!”

He also added: “[Armenia’s President] Serzh Sargsyan and the [ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA have no votes. If they had votes, they would not have forced the village prefects to become [RPA] members. They would not have maintained power with weapons. These elections are the Armenian people’s last chance for salvation.”
