ANKARA. – President of Turkey Abdullah Gul stubbornly continues to confirm that the issue of recognition or non-recognition of events in 1915 as genocide lies in the establishment of a commission of historians.

The Turkish President responded to the journalists in connection to the Armenian Genocide claiming that the Turkish side has released a statement offering to establish a joint commission consisted of Armenian and Turkish historians, CNNTurk reports.

“There is a third side interested in the issue. Let the side also make part of the commission. We will open all the archives for the historians. They will study and we will observe the results. We offered but got no response,” Gul said.
