YEREVAN. – The overall actives of Armenia’s commercial banks decreased by 1.4 percent, which is AMD29.6 billion ($74 million) in the first quarter of 2012 and totaled to AMD 2 trillion 37 billion at the end of the quarter, the report of Armenia’s Central Bank states.

During the given period, the actives of 12 commercial banks grew and in 9 banks they fell.

As part of the actives, government bonds and correspondent accounts in banks were reduced.

The volume of loans grew by 7.5 percent.
