YEREVAN. – A total of 250 Information Technology (IT) companies in Armenia held a meeting Friday to sum up the results of the activities toward the proposal of forming an innovation ministry in the country.

These efforts are coordinated by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises, whose Executive Director Karen Vardanyan noted that this matter was introduced to Armenia’s President last year.

He added that the IT-related functions are scattered among different administrations, and this makes it difficult to prepare and reach decisions.

To note, Armenia’s IT sector is regulated by the Economy Ministry.
