YEREVAN. – During the first quarter of 2012, 13 tons of apples were exported from Armenia, the customs value of which totaled to $2,600, Armenia’s State Revenue Committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Armenian apples are exported for $0.2 (AMD 80) per kilogram. To note, on the local market apples are sold for AMD 200-600 ($0.5-$1.5) per kilogram. Apples from Armenia were mainly exported to Georgia. During the best years, Armenia exported 25-30 tons of apples. Armenia also imports large quantities of apples at the same time.
