YEREVAN. – France’s Pro-Armenian MP Valerie Boyer was reelected after second round of the parliamentary elections in the country, Hayots Ashkharh daily writes.

“The architect of the bill that criminalizes the denial of the Armenian Genocide is in parliament once again. She defeated her socialist opponent by receiving 50.65 percent of the votes.

To note, Boyer’s bill, which considers the denial of genocide as a criminal offense, was adopted by the [French] Senate in January 2012. But short time thereafter, the country’s Constitutional Council canceled the Senate’s decision, arguing that it runs counter to the [country’s] Constitution.

[Separately,] Two MP candidates, who stand out by their pro-Turkish activities, were defeated in the French parliamentary elections,” Hayots Ashkharh writes.
