YEREVAN. – The statement of Georgia that a third party is trying to screw up the work of the OSCE MG on Karabakh conflict settlement is addressed to Russia, deputy Director of the Caucasus Institute Sergei Minasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the statement of Georgian FM Grigol Vashadze that ‘a third party is working hard to prevent that OSCE MG achieved any results’. According to the expert, such announcements are not made because they are real but because they are part of the propaganda between Tbilisi and Moscow.

“After the Russian – Georgian war of 2008 all negative evaluations of the Georgian side concerning any rustle in the region are surely addressed to Russia,” Minasyan said adding that it is just agitation and nothing more.

Talking about Vashadze’s announcement that if a war was to break out over Karabakh, all three South Caucasus countries will lose their sovereignty and independence, Minasyan pointed out that unlike Azerbaijan, Georgia understands that if another war was to break out in the region Russia will certainly interfere.

“Directly or indirectly, the presence of this country will affect Tbilisi which they do not want. So, they talk about it,” Sergei Minasyan concluded.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the Georgian FM had told Ukrainian Zerkalo Nedeli weekly:

“I hope sincerely that the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group will lead to a speedy solution. However, a third party works actively so that the Minsk Group will not achieve results and tension at the line of contact will continue as long as possible.”
