BELMONT. – Manoog S. Young, the founder of the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) and its chairman until 2001, died in Belmont Massachusetts (USA) at the age of 94.

He has left his wife, children and grandchildren, The Armenian Reporter informs. Professor Gerard Libaridian described him as the founding father of NAASR which speaks about his efforts in Armenian Studies in America. Manoog Young was one of the founders of NAASR in the 1950’s and 60’s. He was the chairman of NAASR from the day of its foundation in 1955 until 2001.
