Chris Bohjalian’s The Sandcastle Girls continued to dominate many regional and national bestseller lists on the second week of its release in the U.S., Armenian Weekly reports.

The book is listed seventh in the best-seller list of print edition of the New York Times.

The UK edition of The Sandcastle Girls was released on Sunday. On the back cover, the following passage from novel is highlighted: “How do a million and a half people die with nobody knowing? You kill them in the middle of nowhere.”

Last week the book was presented on Capitol Hill. Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chair Frank Pallone and Representatives Schiff, Jackie Speier and David Cicilline, as well as, former U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Evans and his wife Donna joined Congressional staff and community members at the event. 

The novel was also called must-read Book of the Week on Oprah Winfrey’s Blog.
