ALEPPO.- An Armenian young man kidnapped in Syria was released, a source in Aleppo told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A ransom of $15,000 was paid for Hovsep Balmanukian, 22. “He feels well,” the source said.

Hovsep was kidnapped when trying to enter Lebanon. It was reported he would be swapped on Thursday but later it was postponed to Friday.

The situation in Armenian-populated districts is normalizing. There is food supply to the Armenian districts. The conflict is damaging the city, and Armenian monuments in particular, the source said.
