YEREVAN. – In recent times the topic of national competitiveness is discussed in terms of industrial and postindustrial concepts, Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan stated Friday addressing a symposium devoted to the avenues for raising the competitiveness of national economy.

Sargsyan presented a synopsis of the nature of the industrial and postindustrial concepts, and noted that present-day Armenia is at the industrial policy phase and that is why the country started promoting sectoral industry. As per the PM, the peculiarity of this industry is that it—including the deciding of sectoral priorities—is conducted in partnership with the private sector.

Eleven priority sectors are currently incorporated in Armenia, and there are three cooperation agreements with the private sector.
