YEREVAN. – Less than half of the Armenian population (46.75 percent) believes that women in politics are favorable, Oxfam survey results claim. At the same time, 7.8 percent have a very negative attitude towards women in politics, while 85.5 percent of the respondents have a very positive attitude towards men in politics.

According to an earlier survey, conducted back in 2008, 46.2 percent believed that “Politics is not for a woman.” Hence, the public opinion has been changed seriously for the recent years, the Oxfam considered.

At the current parliament of Armenia there are 14 women MPs, however, none of them have entered the parliament through a majoritarian system.
