A whirling dance ceremony by the Islamic Mevlevi dervishes was performed at the Armenian Surp Kevork (Saint George) Church, which now belongs to March 18 University in Canakkale, Turkey.

The mystic rite ceremony at the church was devoted to Haji Bektash Veli—a Muslim mystic, humanist and philosopher—, Ensonhaber website of Turkey reports.

To note, the Armenian Surp Kevork Church was built in 1669, but it was abandoned after the Armenian Genocide. Subsequently, it was used as an ethnographic museum and a rehearsal hall. And recently it was handed to March 18 University of Canakkale, as a house of culture and art.
