YEREVAN.- The Pan-Armenian National Movement has been renamed "Armenian National Congress" party.

The decision was made at the extraordinary congress of the Pan-Armenian National Movement. The delegates voted for joining ANC bloc in founding a new party named “Armenian National Congress.”

The party will remain the successor of the Pan-Armenian National Movement and will bear responsibility for the movement's actions.

The congress of newly founded ANC party will be held on March 5 to elect a new board and new program.

The Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc is an oppositional union founded in 2008 headed by first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Oppositional union comprised several political parties, including the Pan-Armenian National Movement. Several parties left the bloc after the May 6 parliamentary elections. From now on the ANC bloc does not exist and is replaced by ANC party.
