Russian ministry of industry and trade will study the ban on lace panties in the area of Customs Union.

The panties may be banned under Customs Union’s technical regulations for the safety of light industry products.

During the meeting on light industry at the Russian ministry, Alexander Popov, chairman of the InCity board of directors, said panties made of lace and synthetic materials may disappear from the market from July 1, 2014, ITAR-TASS reported.

Technical regulations for the safety of light industry products came into effect on July 1, 2012, but the products complying with previously issued certificates can be sold till July 1, 2014.

Earlier InCity company has sent a letter to the ministry with a request to revise technical regulations. According to the current regulations, such materials as polyamide, nylon, polyester are banned for production of panties.
