The experience of working in private sector can help while being a member of Yerevan Council of Elders. Grigor Minasyan, member of the Council of Elders and shareholder of “AM” law firm, is confident he will use his knowledge and experience of a lawyer while dealing with the problems Armenia's capital is faced with.

In an interview with Yerkir.am website, a young member of the Council said he had worked with the municipality, and has many projects that he will present to the Republican Party of Armenia's faction in the Council.

“I have worked in both  academic field and public sector. My experience from working in the private sector, for example entering into legal relations with the municipality while  protecting the interests of our customers, revealed some problems, and I think that my professional skills and experience  can be applied,” he said.

Minasyan says he is well aware of relations between Yerevan residents and the municipality, and believes he can help the party by his experience and by showing the problems so as to make Yerevan better.

He is confident Armenia's justice system is more independent than 4-5 years ago. However, there is still much to do, as the system is not working very effectively.

“If we compare today's court with that 3-4 years ago, the progress is obvious.  One cannot disagree that there is a problem of justice in Armenia, but I need to note that current authorities see the problem and are doing everything to resolve it,” he added.
