YEREVAN. – Armenian taxi companies need another 4,000-5,000 drivers, chairman of Civil Initiative NGO Gevorg Dosturyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He said this was stated by representatives of a number of taxi companies during a meeting with the Minister of Transport in May.
The drivers prefer to work on their own or a rented car. These drivers are working less than 12 hours in a taxi company and can earn more in the morning when people are rushing to work and in late hours when buses and minibuses stop working.
“Therefore, taxi companies are empty, and in each needs drivers,” Dosturyan said.
