YEREVAN. – Ambassador of Armenia to the US Tigran Sargsyan on Thursday met with Congressman Robert Dold (R-IL), newly appointed Co-Chairman of the Congressional Armenian Caucus.

First, Ambassador Sargsyan congratulated the Congress member on becoming the new co-chairman of the aforementioned caucus, and wished him success in carrying out his respective duties, the Armenia MFA press service informed.

Subsequently, the parties reflected on the activities of the Congressional Armenian Caucus, the prospects for further expanding Armenian-American political and economic relations, and the Caucus’ respective role. Furthermore, Sargsyan underscored the need to make Armenian-American relations grow deeper.

In addition, the diplomat spoke about the ongoing preparations for the Armenian Genocide centenary commemorations. Also, emphasis was given to high-level US participation in the respective events to be held in Armenia and the Armenian diaspora.

The interlocutors also discussed current regional and international matters.
