Construction of Kars-Tbilisi-Baku railway (railway is to connect Azerbaijan and Georgia bypassing Armenia) is planned to be completed by the next year, said Azerbaijani and Georgian delegates at a conference held in Tbilisi, Business Georgia reported.

The agreement on the railway was signed on February 8, 2007 and is estimated at $600 m.

The implementation of the project provides for construction of new railway lines and reconstruction of the old branch lines. The project will make possible cargo transportation from Europe to China.
