YEREVAN. – Armenia will be joining the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).

The National Assembly on Friday approved the respective membership agreement, and by a unanimous vote of 102 for.

OIV, which currently has 45 member countries, is an intergovernmental organization that deals with technical and scientific aspects of viticulture and winemaking, and the member countries exchange relevant information.

Armenia, by joining this organization, will also be able to hold free wine taste tests once a year in Paris, where OIV is based in.
