A bizarre incident occurred during one of the terrorist attacks that took place on November 13 in Paris.

Amid the chaos of the attacks, an off duty nurse discovered the man he tried to save was one of the bombers.

At the Comptoir Voltaire café, an off duty nurse named David, seen in an amateur video, instinctively began to help victims after an explosion, Reuters news agency reported.

“I go to this man that I could see out of the corner of my eye,” David said. “I take him out of this tangle of chairs, tables, and I put him on the floor. He had nothing special, he was just unconscious. He was unconscious, he had nothing special, but I noticed that on the side of his body there was an enormous hole. A large hole on his side.”

David was in fact trying to resuscitate—by performing CPR on—Brahim Abdeslam, one of the suicide bombers.
