YEREVAN. – Agritourism will help Armenia’s villagers show new approaches.

Head of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economy, Mekhak Apresyan, told the aforementioned to reporters.

He stated this during Friday’s conference on the introduction of the CerTour Quality Certification System in Agritourism.

“We consider important the matter of diversifying our tourism, allowing tourists to feel the rural color of Armenia,” Apresyan said. “This is very important to us because it gives employment opportunities.”

In his words, the Ministry of Economy helps local residents acquire skills in opening and managing rural guesthouses, which can be appealing to tourists and also meet international standards.
