At the Russian Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev informed that the country will be taking new restrictive measures against Turkey, and in response to the unfriendly actions by this country.

Russian Deputy PM Arkady Dvorkovich told the aforementioned to Russia-24 news channel.

“There will be actions which will be announced,” TASS news agency of Russia quoted Dvorkovich as saying. “The Chairman of the Government has said this during the sessions.”

At the same time, however, the deputy PM noted that the Russian government does not plan on completely ending cooperation with Turkey.

“[But] we believe that unfriendly actions need an equivalent response,” Arkady Dvorkovich stressed.

On November 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree, according to which restrictions were imposed on certain Turkish products which Russia imports.

On November 24, the Turkish air force shot down a Russian Su-24 attack aircraft/interdictor nearby the Turkish-Syrian border. The warplane was taking part in the antiterrorism operations in Syria. This incident has led to the ongoing strain in Turkey-Russia relations.
