YEREVAN. – Armenia exported more than 1.4 billion kWh electrical energy in the year past.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yervand Zakharyan, on Thursday told the abovementioned to reporters.

Zakharyan added that the majority—i.e. 1 billion 253 million kWh—of this electrical energy was exported to Iran as electricity barter for the natural gas which Iran supplies to Yerevan Thermal Power Plant, in the capital city of Armenia.

In addition, Georgia and Nagorno-Karabakh received 86.5 million kWh and 83.1 million kWh, respectively, from Armenia in 2015.
