YEREVAN. - Natural persons importing cars will pay VAT on the border of Armenia till 2017.

Deputy Finance Minister of Armenia, Vakhtang Mirumyan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

Pursuant to the current legislation, this procedure will be retained till 2017. Following this, VAT on cars imported from the Eurasian Union will not be levied at all, he added.

The Finance Ministry adopted a decision on imposing tax also on import of cars by natural persons considering that legal persons are subject to the risk of double taxation (since its exclusion in the EEU area has not yet been completely regulated).  The decision thus prevents citizens from importing cars more profitably then companies.
