Together with Aznavour, famous French Armenian actor Serge Avedikian has also arrived in Yerevan. The actor and the singer were welcomed by the Aurora Prize organizers.

The ceremony will be held in Yerevan on April 24. That evening, Aurora Prize Selection Committee Co-Chair George Clooney will present the $100,000 grant to the inaugural Aurora Prize Laureate.

The Aurora Prize was founded by the 100 LIVES initiative to celebrate the spirit of humanity demonstrated by those who intervened on behalf of persecuted Armenians one hundred years ago. It is named after Aurora Mardiganian, who, as a child, survived the atrocities of the Armenian Genocide and committed her life to seeking recognition and justice.
