There will be established a task group from Russia, Turkey, and Iran, which will supervise the maintenance of the ceasefire in Syria and promote confidence between the parties. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry's special envoy on Middle East settlement issues Sergei Varshavin, reports TASS.

"As a result of our negotiations in Astana, we decided to create a joint group, which will include representatives from Russia, Iran, and Turkey. It will work on a regular basis to cease hostilities in Syria. The group will undoubtedly have a large impact on improving the overall situation in the country, as it will also focus on creating a confidence among the parties and  will solve other issues that will contribute to the Syrian negotiations, with an objective to provide a political settlement based on the UN Security Council resolution 2254 "he said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry's special representative qualified the talks in Astana as an important event.
