YEREVAN. – Russia will extend the period for providing technical assistance to the government of Armenia.

The draft of such amendments to the respective Armenian-Russian agreement was approved at Thursday’s cabinet session of the Armenian government.

In May 2015, Russia agreed to provide technical assistance to Armenia, so as to improve its state oversight procedures that were needed for the country’s joining the Eurasian Union—the Customs Union, at the time.

But the term of this agreement expired on December 31, 2016.
